Caliraya Springs is the mountain-top twin golf courses built from the lake and dam of the same name.
It was built in 1939 when the lake was constructed as spill-over for the dam. And with Mt. Banahaw in the backdrop, the twin golf courses — Graham Marsh and Arnold Palmer — are always ready for camera.
But wait, there’s more.
Caliraya Springs general manager Jerome Baldoz has just announced of more improvements including a brand-new logo.
“Get ready for a momentous announcement that’s bound to set your excitement soaring! We are thrilled to introduce the dazzling transformation of our Golf Club Logo,” Baldoz told Tribune Golf Plus.
“Gone are the days of the old and familiar — prepare to be awestruck by the dynamic shift that awaits. Our new logo is more than just a change; it’s a celebration of our club’s essence, an embodiment of passion and nature’s beauty in perfect harmony.”
It’s been long-time coming for the logo whose new look, according to Baldoz, has been pitched to and approved by the board led by chairman Noel Cariño, president Exequiel Robles, corporate secretary Roberto Chan and treasurer Vicente Santos.
It depicts the entire Caliraya diorama.
“Imagine our signature island hole, No. 7, taking center stage on a breathtaking display. This iconic emblem is framed by the serene expanse of Caliraya Lake, accompanied by the regal presence of Mt. Banahaw,” Baldoz said.
“The gentle caress of a mountain breeze. With every glance, the logo weaves a narrative of adventure, challenge, and the pure joy of golf.”
“It’s not just a logo — it’s a visual symphony that speaks to the heart of every golfer and nature enthusiast. This is where the thrill of sport merges seamlessly with the tranquility of the great outdoors, promising an experience beyond compare.”
But the innovations didn’t stop there.
Baldoz, along with VP for operations David Du and golf operations head Gerlie Resmundo said the famed clubhouse and tee house are being renovated. Refurbishment is expected to be completed by October.
Baldoz said everything is in preparation for the club’s re-launch sometime “during the first quarter of the next year.”
“Stay tuned as we unveil this masterpiece — a symbol that encapsulates the soul of our golf club, a testament to our commitment to excellence and the unending allure of the game. Get ready to be captivated, inspired, and truly immersed in the spirit of golf like never before,” Baldoz said.
Yet beyond the logo, Caliraya has gone a long way in terms of the quality of the course.
Under Baldoz’s watch, Caliraya has hosted big events like those organized by Pilipinas Golf Tour, Ladies, Philippine Golf Tour, Junior PGT, Professional Golfers Association of the Philippines Pro-Am, Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines, Philippine Caddies and United Caddies.
It will play host to the forthcoming JGFP Inter-School which starts in October.
