Jordan Clarkson and the rest of Gilas Pilipinas saved their best for last.

The National Basketball Association star poured everything he got in the team’s final game in the FIBA World Cup as he exploded for points in an electrifying performance to remember played in front of the hometown cheering crowd and lifted Gilas to an emotionally-filled 96-75 triumph over China Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Clarkson, the star player from the Utah Jazz, ended up with 34   points, including five three-point shots, while Rhenz Abando generated energy coming off the bench as Gilas salvaged some measure of pride.

Gilas averted another winless campaign in the FIBA World Cup as they won for the first time in five games and gave the Philippines something to cheer about.
