GAC Motor Philippines, a brand under global mobility company Astara, recently reported a notable achievement, marking over 1,000 units in retail sales for the year 2023.
This represents a record for the brand in the region. As disclosed to the CAMPI, the year-to-date retail sales as of August reached 1,017 units, signaling the market’s excitement for this fledgling brand.
The robust sales growth witnessed this year is primarily due to the mounting allure of GAC Motor’s vehicle lineup. Two models that have particularly captivated the attention of Filipino customers are the GS8 SUV, which comfortably seats seven, and the novel GS3 Emzoom.
Speaking on the brand’s accomplishments, Franz Decloedt, brand head of GAC Motor, conveyed: “In just the span of eight months, over 1,000 GAC vehicles have found homes across the Philippines. Our ambitions only grow, with a target of reaching the 2,000 sales mark by the close of the year.
“This current success not only speaks to the confidence our customers have in our vehicles but also to the unwavering support of our dealer partners, enhancing the overall GAC ownership journey.”
Moreover, GAC Motor is set to expand its dealership network in the country. The firm recently onboarded four new dealers, ensuring a broader footprint to vend GAC Motor vehicles and proffer after-sales services.
Decloedt elaborated, “Our primary objective is to intensify our network’s reach across the Philippines. This growth strategy aims to provide our customers with convenient purchasing options and a seamless after-sales experience, regardless of their locale.”
To further expand their product line-up, GAC Motor also unveiled the GS8 4WD model. This latest addition to the fleet was introduced at the GAC Discovery Drive Fest, which took place on 25 August at the Glorietta.
