Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno displayed their impressive forms as they blasted their respective opponents to advance to the knockout round of the Predator WPA World 10-Ball Championships in Klagenfurt, Austria late Thursday.

Amit defeated Wang Wan-Lin of Chinese Taipei, 7-4, in the winner’s qualification round to book a spot in the knockout stage of this tourney that stakes a total cash prize of $50,000.

The 42-year-old cue artist who owns 10 Southeast Asian Games gold medals also defeated Hye Ju Jin of South Korea, 7-3, and Chou Chieh-Yu of Chinese Taipei, 7-6, last Wednesday to set up a crucial duel with Wang.

Amit, who is seeking her third WPA women’s title after winning both editions in 2009 and 2013, is facing Kristina Zlateva of Bulgaria in the knockout stage at press time.

She previously prevailed over China’s Pan Xiaoting, 7-4, in the earlier stages of the tournament to gain the right to face the 55-year-old Fischer, who owns 60 Women’s Professional Billiards Association titles and a gold medal in the World Games in Kaohsiung in 2009.
