Juvic Pagunsan had a meltdown just when everybody was expecting for him to go for the kill.
The 44-year-old turned in an even-par 72 on Sunday to make do with a share of eighth place in the Mynavi ABC Golf Championship at the the ABC Golf Club.
Holding on to the lead in the second round and just three strokes off the leader before Sunday, Pagunsan finished with a 15-under total of 273.
For his feat, Pagunsan earned 3,273,000 yen or the equivalent of P1.4 million.
Fellow Filipino Justin delos Santos wound up tied for 29th after a 281 total that was good for 782,000 yen (roughly P290,000).
Keita Nakajima of Japan topped the 120-million yen tournament following a three-stroke victory.
Nakajima assembled a 24-under 264, besting South Africa’s Shaun Norris.
He cashed in 24 million yen or P8.9 million. Norris had a 267 total for 12 million yen.
Japanese Mikumu Horikawa and Taiga Semikawa tied for third place after identical 268.
