Flying Titans face Chameleons, eye 4th straight triumph

SOCIAL MEDIA

Red-hot Choco Mucho targets a fourth straight win and a chance to climb up to a share of the second spot in a clash with struggling Nxled in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference today at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

After dropping their opening day match against sister team defending champion Creamline, the Flying Titans went on a roll with three consecutive wins without dropping a set to keep pace with the leaders.

Choco Mucho has no plans of slowing down as it tries to add skidding Chameleons to its list of victims in their 2 p.m. showdown that serves as curtain-raiser of the triple-bill playdate.

Meanwhile, powerhouse squads F2 Logistics and Cignal battle listless squads Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower, respectively, in the other pairings.

Squaring off at 4 p.m. are the Cargo Movers and Foxies while locking horns at 6 p.m. are the HD Spikers and Highrisers.

But all eyes will be on top crowd-drawer Choco Mucho’s drive to improve its 3-1 win-loss record to join second-running Petro Gazz, Chery Tiggo and PLDT. Creamline is at solo top spot with a perfect 4-0 card.

Behind Sisi Rondina’s consistent explosive performance and excellent leadership, the Flying Titans are playing at a high level despite losing winger Des Cheng to a knee injury.

Choco Mucho whipped expansion team Galeries Tower, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20, last Thursday in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

However, head coach Dante Alinsunurin reminds his players to always keep their guards up, especially against a young squad like Nxled which can pull off an upset anytime.

“I always remind them to keep on doing the right things we’re doing. Stick with the system and execute what we prepared during training,” Alinsunurin said.

Backing Rondina up are Caitlyn Viray, Kat Tolentino, Regine Arocha, Bea de Leon and setter Deanna Wong along with Maddie Madayag and Cherry Nunag, who got much-deserved rest the last time out.
