Meralco will be walking wounded when it battles powerhouse the powerhouse Ryukyu Golden Kings in the East Asia Super League Season 2 on Wednesday at the Okinawa Arena in Japan.
Bolts coach Luigi Trillo told Daily Tribune that they have no choice but to parade the injured Prince Ibeh as reinforcement in their EASL debut after uncertainties surrounded the possible stints of their original choices in Suleiman Braimoh and Zah Lofton.
Braimoh, who has been reinforcing them in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association, is holding a single-entry visa in the Philippines.
The participation of Ibeh’s supposed replacement in Lofton, meanwhile, has yet to be approved as the EASL has a strict policy when it comes to changing imports.
The earliest that Lofton can suit up is when the Bolts face the New Taipei Kings on 29 November in New Taipei Xinzhuang Gymnasium in Taiwan.
