Delos Santos 6 strokes behind in Japan

Justin delos Santos fired a 68 on Friday to stay just six strokes off the leader after two rounds in the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament at the Phoenix Country Club in Miyazaki, Japan.

The 28-year-old Delos Santos shoots down four birdies (1, 7, 12 and 18) while bogeying the fifth to stay within striking distance in the 200-million-yen tournament.

Delos Santos, tied for sixth in last week’s Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters, fired a 70 in opening round on Thursday for a two-day total of 138.

Juvic Pagunsan fired a second consecutive 70 for 140 to share 25th place.

Hometown bet Yuta Sugiura carded a 68 to go with his 64 in the opening day to hold a three-shot lead at 10-under 132.

Compatriot Yuta Kinoshita had a 68 to share second spot with South African Shaun Norris at 135.
