Justin delos Santos fired a second-straight two-under-par 70 on Friday to snag a share of 22nd place in the Casio World Open Golf Tournament at Kochi Kuroshio Country Club in Kochi.
The 28-year-old Filipino has so far tallied four-under 140 going into the weekend in the 200 million yen Japan Tour tournament.
Starting at the back nine, Delos Santos opened the day with four birdies in the first five holes (10th, 11th, 13th and 14th), but bogeyed Nos. 14 and 2.
He is eight shots off the leader, Japanese Tomoyo Ikemura, who sizzled with a 64 to go with his previous round’s 68 for a three-stroke lead.
Ikemura’s 12-under 132 allowed him to occupy top spot and line himself up for the 40 million yen top purse.
Fellow Japanese Tsubasa Ukita had a 72 for a two-day total of nine-under 135 and a share of second place.
South Korea’s Ji-Ho Yang is one shot away after a 73 which blunted his opening-round 63 for 136.
