Justin delos Santos will have his hands full to get back into the upper rungs of the standings on Sunday in the final round of the Japan Tour’s Casio World Open Golf Tournament at the Kochi Kuroshio Country Club.
The lone Filipino in the last tournament of the season sputtered with five bogeys against a lone birdie to post a four-over 76 and salvage a share of 52nd place in the 200-million-yen tournament.
Following his back-to-back 70s on the first two days, the 28-year-old Delos Santos ran into rough spots in the third, fourth, eighth, 10th and 16th before capping Saturday’s third round with a birdie on the 18th.
It gave him an even-par 216, 10 shots away from the quadruple leadership.
Four Japanese occupy the lead entering the last round, all of them firing 68s Saturday.
Yusaku Hosona, Takumi Kanaya, Taichi Nabetami and Kaito Onishi are bundled on top with 1-under 206.
