AC Motors, the official distributor of the Kia brand in the Philippines, recently unveiled its new 2024 Seltos.
It now sports a restyled grille and lighting elements that create a bold look for this compact SUV’s exterior. Completing the Seltos’ updated look are the new wheel design and rear light bar that is connected to the vehicle’s taillamps.
According to Kia Philippines president Toti Zara, the 2024 Seltos is the first of five new models that will be launched in the coming weeks. While no further details were shared, Zara hinted that three of those that will be launched next year will either be hybrid or full EV models.
Powering the 2024 Seltos are two new engine options: the 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated Smartstream engine that generates 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque (paired to an Intelligent Variable Transmission) and the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp and 242 Nm of torque (paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with selectable drive modes).
There will be three trims to be offered, the 1.5 LX IVT priced at P1.198 million, the 1.5 EX IVT priced at P1.288 million, and the top-of the-line 1.4 SX DCT priced at P1.688 million. Color options are Snow White Pearl (LX, EX), Gravity Gray (LX, EX), Pluton Blue (SX), and Snow White Pearl w/ Black Roof (SX).
Seamless panel
Inside, the 2024 Seltos is a different infotainment setup that has a new seamless panel stretching two-thirds of the dashboard that serves as both a digital gauge display and an infotainment touchscreen (both are 10.3-inch digital displays).
The rest of the materials used throughout the cabin were exquisitely chosen and noticeably luxurious. The spacious passenger and cargo areas are also plus points for the Seltos.
For the compact SUV’s range-topping Turbo SX variant, a panoramic sunroof and wireless charger are included.
All variants have a new parking distance warning system and rear camera, but for the SX variant a Cruise Control is an added feature. In addition, the SX has an advanced driver-aid system that include Lane Keep Assist, Lane Following Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and a Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.
