F2 Logistics bids goodbye

SOCIAL MEDIA

F2 Logistics, one of the most successful volleyball teams in the country, had formally disbanded.

In a social media post on Wednesday, the Cargo Movers announced that it is ending its eight-year run in professional volleyball to shift its focus on grassroots development.

The Cargo Movers had some memorable runs in the defunct Philippine Superliga.

Bannered by the core of the successful De La Salle University, the likes of Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, Kianna Dy and Dawn Macandili won six titles, four runner-up finishes and three bronze medals in domestic and international arena.

It also represented the country in the FIVB Women’s Club World Cup in 2016 in which it paraded Fajardo, Jaja Santiago, Ces Molina, Rachel Anne Daquis, Mika Reyes, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Jen Reyes together with six foreign players.

“As we shift our focus to the grassroots and put to a halt the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, we thank our ever-loyal supporters that have been with the team through the victories and the losses,” the Cargo Movers said in a statement, adding that injuries slowed them down in their campaign in the Premier Volleyball League.

“However, time has not been good to us. A number of injuries to our players forced us to take slower steps, prioritizing health over victories in the past few years.”

“We give our utmost thanks to the coaching staff who have fought and tried to make this team stronger. We would most like to thank Coach Ramil, for continuously leading the team.”

The Cargo Movers, however, will continue to support La Salle as well as University of Perpetual Help and other young volleyball players all over the country.
