Nine-time Philippine Basketball Association champion Alex Cabagnot joined the Korean exodus after signing with the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League.

Cabagnot, who had a lot of success with San Miguel Beer before moving to Terrafirma two years ago, is set to replace another Filipino in former Blackwater guard Joshua Torralba, who suffered a thigh injury, for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

With his signing, Cabagnot became the second oldest Filipino to sign an overseas contract at 41 years old, one year younger than Jay Washington, who signed with Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B. League at 42 years old last year.

Cabagnot last played for the Dyip in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup where he posted averages of 8.8 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in nine games.
