Migs Oczon is still trying to find his rhythm with new team Ulsan Hyundai as the former collegiate standout posted four points in just eight minutes and 27 seconds of play in their 90-83 win over Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in their Korean Basketball League game on New Year’s Eve.

Head coach Cho Dong-hyun said in an article that appeared on Jumpball Korea that the ex-College of Saint Benilde star is in adjustment mode given that he just arrived in Korea on 29 December.

But Cho feels Oczon, 23, will get better in no time.

“He is active in defense, but he needs practice and understanding of the two-man game and off-the-ball. He attacked confidently.”

“He didn’t get much playing time, but he came in on the 29th and wasn’t in top condition. He will get better with practice.”

With Ulsan Hyundai holding a 13-14 win-loss record at sixth place, Cho wants to utilize both Oczon and fellow rookie Moobeen Park on the court.

“With the addition of Oczon, we will be able to play transition basketball again, which was lost. There are concerns because they are young but the entire team is young,” Cho said.

“Once Oczon gets used to it, Moobeen’s stamina has to be adjusted. Using Oczon and Moobeen together requires practice.”
