F2 Logistics remains committed to ensuring that its former players will get to continue their respective playing careers even after the club’s withdrawal from the Premier Volleyball League.
The management of one of the country’s most successful clubs is currently busy helping some of the unheralded ex-Cargo Movers to land deals with other teams before the 2024 PVL season begins on 17 February.
“There’s no problem with our starters and big names because other teams have already expressed interest in recruiting them,” former F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego told Daily Tribune.
“Right now, we want to make sure that all our other former players will be given a chance to continue their volleyball careers. Even if we already parted ways, as a family, we try our best to help and support each other,” Diego, who took the coaching reins last year in what turned out to be the club’s farewell season.
The Cargo Movers management announced on 13 December 2023 its decision to disband the club to focus on its support at the grassroots level putting an end to the team’s amazing seven-year run.
F2 Logistics debuted in 2016 in the defunct Philippine Superliga where it won five titles before transferring to the PVL in 2021 but only joined the competition in 2022.
Upon F2 Logistics’ dissolution, other clubs raced to land the services of its stars.
Cignal was able to recruit prized libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig, Nxled got 6-foot-2 Ivy Lacsina while Chery Tiggo tapped veterans Ara Galang and Aby Marano.
Winger Myla Pablo is reportedly heading back to Petro Gazz, which already signed backup middle blocker Ethan Arce. The trio of Kim Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo and Majoy Baron could be heading into one of the top franchises while young stars Mars Alba and Jolina dela Cruz are also expected to join other powerhouse squads.
Diego, who steered F2 Logistics to a third place finish in last year’s 1st All-Filipino Conference, also has received offers from several teams.
“There are offers but I’m still thinking about it. Our priority right now is for our players to continue playing in the PVL,” Diego said.
