Filipino tennis player Alex Eala again bombed out of the qualifying round of the 2024 Australian Open after a 2-6, 5-7 loss to Rebecca Peterson of Sweden at Court 13 of Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia Tuesday morning.

It only took one hour and 48 minutes for the No. 128-ranked Swede to dispatch Eala and advance to the second qualifying match of the first Grand Slam of the year.ALEX

This is the second straight time that Eala, No. 187 in the Women’s Tennis Association rankings, bowed out early in the Australian Open after a 6-4, 6-7, 3-6 loss to Japan’s Misaki Doi in the first qualifying match last year.
