MCFASolver surged to the top spot in the team standings of the Philippine Basketball Association 3×3 Season 3 Third Conference following its triumph in Leg 2.
The Tech Centrale, who struck gold just one leg after settling for runner-up honors in the conference kickoff, jacked up their tally to 180 tour points as they dislodged Leg 1 conqueror Meralco (150) from No. 1.
After grabbing the maximum 100 points in Leg 1, the Bolts finished only fifth in their failed bid for back-to-back leg wins for an equivalent of 50 markers, allowing the Lubao-based guest team to race ahead.
Cavitex stayed at No. 3 with 140 markers after recording its second consecutive podium finish even as Blackwater (110) bumped Purefoods (105) off No. 4.
The Smooth Razor’s climb from fifth was spurred by their fourth place standing last Tuesday while the Titans’ fall was hastened by their sixth place in the second leg.
On the strength of its silver medal in Leg 2, San Miguel Beer burst out of the cellar and vaulted five places to No. 6 with 96 points.
Grand slam-seeking TNT, which has yet to find its rhythm in the season-ending conference, remained at seventh with 80 after a pair of seventh place finishes so far.
Barangay Ginebra (61) dropped two spots to eighth as Terrafirma (55) maintained its hold of ninth ahead of plungers Pioneer Elastoseal (53) and NorthPort (38).
The 11 teams are in a spirited race for tickets to the Third Conference Grand Finals, which will feature only the top 10 teams based on the rankings after six legs.
The Top 4 will gain an additional bonus in the form of outright entry to the quarterfinal phase of the conference championship.
