Uratex is looking to extend its local dominance to the Philippine Basketball Association.
The Dream will be one of the six teams participating in the Invitational Women’s PBA 3×3 which tips off next week.
Kaye Pingol, the No. 5-ranked women’s 3×3 player in the country, captains the Uratex side as it aims to maintain its position as the standard in local women’s 3×3 basketball.
Joining her in the Dream lineup are Sam Harada, Eunique Chan, Shanda Anies, Cecilia Junsay, and April Siat.
“It’s a longtime coming and we’re happy to be part of the rise of women’s 3×3 basketball on the local front. We’re just happy to compete and we’ll make sure to give it our all in the WPBA 3×3,” Uratex team owner Peachy Medina said.
But the Dream will have their hands full with a stacked field which includes Gilas A, Gilas B, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, and Angelis Resort.
It’s going to be a short three-week elimination schedule starting 22 to 23 January at Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, 29 to 30 January at Ayala Malls Market! Market!, and on 5 to 6 February at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with the top four teams advancing to the knockout playoffs to be held on 19 February at Ayala Malls Glorietta.
