NEW YORK (AFP) — The National Basketball Association announced the rescheduling of two Golden State Warriors games on Friday that were postponed last week following the death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic.

The shifts also required the league make two other alterations to the NBA schedule in early April.

Milojevic, a Serbian who was an assistant coach on the Warriors’ 2022 NBA championship squad, died 17 January in Salt Lake City at age 46 after a heart attack.

Golden State’s scheduled 17 January contest at Utah will be played on 15 February. It will be the Warriors’ third game in four nights after games 12 February at Utah and 14 February at home against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The contest will come just before the NBA All-Star Game break, with the Warriors not back on the court until 22 February when the Los Angeles Lakers visit.

The Dallas Mavericks game at Golden State, which had been scheduled for 19 January, was moved to 2 April.

A Warriors’ game at Dallas that was originally set for 2 April was rescheduled for 5 April.

As a result, the Atlanta Hawks game at Dallas, which had been scheduled for 5 April, was moved one night earlier to 4 April.

It will be another run of three games in four nights for the Warriors, who visit Houston on 4 April between matchups with Dallas.

At 19-23, the Warriors are 12th in the Western Conference, two games behind Utah for the final play-in position in the post-season.
