Dwight Howard went berserk for Strong Group Athletics as the squad trashed Lebanon’s Sports Club Beirut, 94-72, to book a slot in the final of the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship at the Al Nasr Club in Dubai early Sunday (Manila time).
Howard led SGA with a double-double game of 26 points and 20 rebounds as the Filipino squad is a heartbeat away from completing a sweep in the tournament.
Kevin Quiambao delivered 20 points and three rebounds for Strong Group while Justine Baltazar added 15 points and five rebounds.
Dar Tucker led Beirut with 22 points as the team will be relegated to a bronze medal match.
Meanwhile, Strong Group is set to face defending champion Al Riyadi for all the marbles on Sunday at 11:15 p.m.
Strong Group has a score to settle with the Lebanese team after getting knocked out in the quarterfinal, 97-107, last year.
