University of Perpetual Help System Dalta punctuated its mastery of the sands with a 21-19, 21-13, victory over Mapua University in the finals for a second straight title in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 99 men’s beach volleyball tournament Sunday.
The Altas pair of Most Valuable Player Jeff Marapoc and Louie Ramirez dominated Kenneth Eslapor and Marlowe Jamisola in the winner-take-all finale at the Subic Bay sand court in Subic Free Port Zone to deliver the Las Piñas-based squad’s fourth crown overall.
Perpetual went on a tear after dropping its opening day match against Jose Rizal University.
Meanwhile, the Heavy Bombers tandem of Windel Laurenciana and Matthew Miguel bested Arellano University’s Adrian Villados and Arman Guinto to pocket the bronze medal.
On the other hand, Letran College also completed a championship repeat after beating San Beda University, 21-16, 21-16, in the women’s division.
The Lady Generals, meanwhile, outplayed the Lady Altas, 21-16, 16-21, 15-10, to take third place in the women’s division.
In juniors play, Emilio Aguinaldo College beat Lyceum of the Philippines University, 21-17, 16-21, 15-10, in the championship match.
