Former National University guard Kean Baclaan only had one thing to post on social media to announce his next destination.
“Animo,” Baclaan posted, referring to his transfer to De La Salle University and also adding a green heart emoji.
Baclaan joins Jacob Cortez, who transferred from San Beda University, on the Taft Avenue-based team as the loaded reigning University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball champion adds another talent.
In Season 86, the former Batang Gilas guard led the NU with 10.73 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.53 rebounds as the Bulldogs finished in third place.
Baclaan is set to sit out UAAP Season 87 for his one-year residency along with Cortez but he is set to reunite with childhood friend and UAAP Most Valuable Player Kevin Quiambao.
Quiambao even greeted his soon-to-be teammate in an Instagram story with a picture from their previous games.
“Batang Munti Represent,” Quiambao posted.
Recently, other UAAP schools have been on a recruiting spree with Season 86 finalist University of the Philippines getting Filipino-American Miguel Yniguez and former University of the East guard Rey Remogat.
Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University secured the commitment of Sacred Heart Schoo-Ateneo de Cebu star Jared Bahay.
