Mobile Legends Development League Indonesia made a gigantic move in its inclusivity campaign by giving female teams to compete in the upcoming MDL Indonesia Season 10.
Moonton Games, the developer of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, said two slots will be opened to the two strongest teams from the Woman Star League in Indonesia.
“Mobile Legends Esports tournaments including MDL, MPL, MSC, M-Series, and others are not male-only tournaments,” Moonton Esports Indonesia public relations manager Azwin Nugraha said.
“From the beginning, Mobile Legends Esports came with inclusiveness so it is not limited to anyone including our relatives who have special needs. Inclusivity is not only about gender equality, but it means that all audiences can participate and compete at different levels to realize their dreams.”
Meanwhile, Woman Star League head of event Krishna Aurora hailed the initiative launched by MDL Indonesia, citing that the move is the right step towards improving the level of competition in the local Esports scene for women.
“This will be the first step for players ladies to be able to get new challenges and rise to the next level,” Aurora stated.
“The entry of the WSL team into the MDL arena will be a proving venue that women can also compete equally with men in the same scene.”
