Junior Altas nail 6th win

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta completed its recovery as it beat Jose Rizal University, 102-84, to clinch their sixth win in Season 99 National Collegiate Athletic Association juniors basketball tournament yesterday at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.

Amiel Acido dropped a triple-double, firing 17 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists for the Junior Altas, who regained their spot on top with a 6-1 win-loss card together with reigning champion Letran College.

JD Pagulayan was also impressive with a game-high 24 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the rainbow area laced with five rebounds, four assists and a block while LeBron Daep fired 16 points and eight assists, Mark Gojo Cruz registered 14 points, six rebounds and four assists and Aries Borja tallied 14 points, two rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

With the win, Perpetual is now in the playoff for a Final Four berth as it only has two games left against Letran on 1 March and San Sebastian College on 3 March.

In other games, San Sebastian beat La Salle Green Hills, 76-67; Letran outclassed Arellano University, 106-85; and San Beda University ripped Emilio Aguinaldo College, 51-44.
