Choco Mucho asserted dominance to deal Chery Tiggo’s first loss and take over the disputed lead spot in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, 25-9, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City Saturday.
Sisi Rondina exploded with 23 points including two of the last three points in the fourth set, to lead the Flying Titans in crushing Crossovers to extend its win streak to 3-0.
“Syempre masaya kasi nagbubunga yung pagod namin. Sana magtuloy tuloy. Masaya rin ako kanina sa mga pangyayari kasi kami sa loob naguusap talaga and palagi kong sinasabi na maging composed kami,” Rondina said.
Kat Tolentino meanwhile was hailed as the player of the game after her 17-point performance, including 13 attacks and 4 blocks.
The Flying Titans overwhelmed the Crossovers by sealing the first set with a 16-point lead.
But just as the Crossovers were getting warmed up by keeping the competition at bay in the 2nd frame, the Flying Titans managed to close out with a 2-point lead.
The Crossovers averted early disaster by taking hold of the third set with Eya Laure, who ended up with 13 points, leading the rally.
However, the Crossovers — led by Ara Galang’s 14-point performance — just doesn’t have enough firepower in the fourth frame against the Flying Titans to keep their record unblemished.
