WNBA celebrates Women’s Month

SOCIAL MEDIA

Around 30 female participants were treated to a day of basketball and fitness in the Women’s National Basketball Association and AXA Her Court event at the NBA Community Court Saturday at the Reyes Gym in Mandaluyong City.

NBA Philippines marketing partnerships lead Mae Dichupa said the league always made an effort to empower women as the world celebrates Women’s Month this month as this is the first time this event was held.

Apart from teaching basic basketball drills, the participants were also taught proper health and nutrition that will help them stay fit.

“The NBA and WNBA have always shown commitment towards women’s sports. As early as 2014, we brought WNBA legends in our Jr. NBA training,” Dechupa said.

“That’s something we want to continue with AXA but as we have shown in the past, we continue to work with like-minded brands. AXA has been our partner for seven years and it has worked perfectly.”
