Weightlifter Rosegie Ramos wants to secure a spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics as she competes in the 2024 IWF World Cup on Monday in Phuket, Thailand.
Ramos said she is not aiming for a specific lift in the women’s 49-kilogram as her sole focus is to get into the top 10 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification Ranking and get one of the coveted outright berths.
So far, the Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist is in 12th place in the latest rankings with her best lift at 191 kgs last December in the IWF Grand Prix II in Doha.
“For now, I don’t have a target weight. I just want to improve my ranking and secure my spot for the Olympics,” Ramos said.
“I have been training under coach Julius Naranjo here at Rizal Memorial,” she added.
