Top junior golfer Alethea Gaccion is among those being considered to represent the country in the 15th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final slated 24 to 26 April at the Laguna Lang Co in Vietnam.
Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) president Oliver Gan said they are still in the process of choosing the members of the contingent based on their performances during the JGFP meets.
Joining the 16-year-old Gaccion among the possible contingent members are Geoffrey Tan, Iya Borlongan and Bobe Salahog — all standouts in the junior circuit.
But nothing is final yet, according to Gan, and that everyone still has the chance to be included.
Gaccion was runner-up in the Faldo Series European Grand Finals held in the United Arab Emirates. She just came from the donning the tricolors in the Queen Sirikit Cup in New Zealand.
Just like Gaccion, Borlongan hails from Cagayan de Oro.
“While we continue the process of rebuilding the Faldo Series Asia, we are extending an invitation to provide the opportunity to invite four of the Philippines’ leading juniors,” wrote the Faldo Junior Tour invite to the JGFP.
Some 40 top junior players will see action including winners of the Europe Grand Final. Results will count in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
