Batang Gilas demolishes Syria

Batang Gilas opened their campaign in the FIBA Under-18 Asian Championship campaign with a 112-48 demolition of Syria at the Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran Sunday evening, 21 August (Manila time).

The Philippines went on a 20-6 tear at the start of the first quarter and never looked back as it chalked up a win in Group C.

Mason Francis Amos led the Philippines with 26 points from an 11-of-15 shooting clip while Earl Jared Abadam dropped 19 markers, six rebounds and four assists.

George Kastntin was the lone Syrian to reach double digits with 12 points.

Up next for Batang Gilas is Qatar on 22 August.
