Defending Mobile Legends Professional League PH champion AP Bren emerged victorious in the battle of undefeated teams with a hard-fought win over ECHO on Week 3 Day 2 of the MPL PH Season 13 over the weekend at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.

Composed of its world championship roster of Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel, David “Flap” Canon, Marco “Super Marco” Requitano, Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo and Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson, AP Bren lost its first game of the season but was nevertheless triumphant in the match with a 2-1 score.

The series between the two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang world champions also marked the first time that Robert “Trebor” Sanchez, former coach of ECHO, clashed with his ex-team following his transfer to AP Bren this season.

AP Bren said knowing the pattern of ECHO’s draft was key to victory.

“They prepared for us. The drafting alone, we know they have prepared for us. It was tough yet fun because it was a really good match,” AP Bren’s experience laner and M5 World Championship Most Valuable Player David “Flap” Canon said.

“I think the difference was in the draft,” AP Bren team captain Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel chimed in.

“We saw in the game it was pretty even, but the draft made the difference. They are very strong early, that is like our lineup, our playstyle is early game centric but they can match with us so we lost one game.”

Down but not out, ECHO jungler and M2 World Championship MVP Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno is convinced that the reigning MPL PH champion is far from being unbeatable.

Despite his confidence, KarlTzy conceded that AP Bren was the better team that fateful night.

“They have a more solid chemistry compared to last season. Nothing much has changed in terms of their playstyle, I feel like we can still beat them. I am happy because it was a good match,” KarlTzy stated.

In the end, AP Bren remains unscathed after three weeks into the regular season of the league. They currently sit atop the ladder with a perfect 6-0 record and 18 points.
