Sentinels is looking to rebuild its Valorant roster and would likely look completely different for the next Valorant Champions Tour season.
Last week, Sentinels announced the arrival of former XSET star Zachary “zekken” Patrone while Rory “Dephh” Jackson is also set to join the team to replace Sentinels team captain Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan, according to a report by DotEsports.
But ShahZaM said he was unaware that he was already on the way out.
“Looks like an article just went out. You want to know the best part? I just found out with you guys. Three years on a team and I found out like this,” ShahZaM said during his live stream.
Sentinels chief executive officer Rob Moore, meanwhile, contradicted ShahZaM’s pronouncement, citing that the player was well aware of the status of his contract.
“I want to clarify the situation with ShahZam. On 21 September, I reminded him he did not have a contract for the next season. We were most likely bringing in new coaches, they would decide the new roster and he was free to contact other teams,” Moore said in a tweet.
“He had a long talk with our coaches and no contract was offered. Before we had signed new players George Geddes leaked roster moves while Shahz was on stream. That was not an announcement from the team, the timing was unfortunate but certainly not a surprise.”
