Filipino-Canadian Chris Crisologo bucked a double bogey to shoot a two-under-par 69 at the start of the final stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament in Savannah, Georgia Friday.
Crisologo, whose parents are originally from the Philippines, had a great start with birdies on 3, 5 and 7 before closing the front nine with a bogey.
The 26-year-old product of Simon Fraser University dropped two shots on the par-5 11th but bounced back with birdies on 13 and 15.
Crisologo joins a big group tied for 33rd place, five shots behind Alan Wagner who sizzled for 63.
The winner will earn the right to play in every open tournament in 2023 while the second through 10th placers are guaranteed 12 starts.
Finishers 11th through 40th are guaranteed eight starts while the remainder of the field is conditionally exempt on the tour.
