College of Saint Benilde players Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis yesterday filed a case against suspended Jose Rizal University dribbler John Amores at the San Juan Hall of Justice.
Pasturan and Davis were both on the receiving end of Amores’ thunderous blows last Tuesday during a Season 98 National Collegiate Athletic Association game at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
Blazers head coach Charles Tiu accompanied the two just before the school’s game against University of Perpetual Help System Dalta as a witness to the case filed under physical injuries.
Amores ran wild and charged towards the Blazers bench during garbage time of a won-game by Saint Benilde against the Heavy Bombers.
The day after the incident, the NCAA management committee ruled that Amores has been suspended indefinitely.
Apart from that, Bombers Jason Tan, Joshua Guiab, Jason Celis, Marwin Dionisio, Jonathan Medina, Mark Abaoag, Karl de Jesus and CJ Gonzales were suspended for one game while Jay Arenal and William Sy won’t be seeing action in two and three matches, respectively.
NCAA mancomm member Dax Castellano said it is the players’ right to seek legal action.
“The players’ families filed the case. It’s their right to file a case. We submitted the medical documents and the papers for filing,” Castellano said.
