Francis “LeBron” Lopez has finally given his commitment to play for the University of the Philippines.

The Gilas Pilipinas prospect said in a statement he had to consult his family before making his decision.

The 6-foot-6 former Ateneo de Manila High School star also thanked his former team for molding him into a steady swingman.

“After spending quality time with family and close friends during the holidays, it has given me the opportunity to seriously take stock of my life as well as the options available for my future, both for my education, and basketball career,” Lopez said.

“I will always be grateful to both schools for honing my early years. My basketball path has been unpredictable for the past two years as I finish my high school education.”

Lopez joined a stacked Fighting Maroons squad that already has JD Cagulangan, Terrence Fortea and Gerry Abadiano.
