They are no experts in the affairs of the heart but the volleybelles do know how to give good and practical love advice.
May it be from personal experience or wisdom passed, these ladies don’t hold back when sharing a thing or two about love stuff.
They may look tough and strong inside the court playing for their clubs in the Premier Volleyball League but it doesn’t mean that they’re no suckers for that warm, fuzzy feeling.
“Love should be easy,” F2 Logistics opposite spiker Kim Kianna Dy said in a social media video reel by One Sports.
The Cargo Movers star continues by saying that one should enjoy every moment spent with one’s loved one, something that she practices being in a long-distance relationship with
Japan-based cager beau Dwight Ramos.
“Go with the flow. Your lover should be your best friend also. If it’s hard then it’s not love, right?” Dy added.
Michelle Morente of PLDT echoes the same sentiment, adding that being together in good times and in bad will make a relationship stronger.
“Just enjoy the moment and support each other no matter what,” Morente, who has been engaged to Creamline’s Jeanette Panaga since 2021, said.
“Just be there through ups and downs for each other.”
Communication and patience, meanwhile, are keys for a healthy relationship, according to Chery Tiggo’s Shaya Adorador.
“You should always have open communication. Be patient with each other especially if one is having a bad day,” Adorador said.
“Let them feel that you are always there for them. Let your love grow,” added the open spiker, who is in a relationship with teammate setter Jasmine Nabor.
Michelle Gumabao of Creamline and Petro Gazz libero Cienne Cruz said that God should be at the center of every relationship.
“Put God at the center of your relationship. Whether the days are good or bad as long as you have that faith and that decision that you’ll stay and work in that relationship. That advice really helped me a lot in my relationship,” Gumabao said.
Proof of Gumabao’s advice is her flourishing relationship with long-time boyfriend businessman and fitness expert Aldo Panlilio.
Choco Mucho’s middle Maddie Madayag could not put more accurately the right foundation for love to work.
“It is a give-and-take kind of situation. Keep on communicating with your partner and always show your love to each other in any way you can,” said the comely former Ateneo ace who is in a relationship with Zolo Ligot.
Love is like volleyball as it neither judges nor discriminates. But it needs the same amount of passion, care, communication, respect and love to work.
Truly, love wins on and off the court.
