Jon Rahm held off Max Homa to win the Genesis Invitational on Sunday and overtake Scottie Scheffler for the world number one ranking.
Spain’s Rahm carded a two-under par 69 for a 17-under par total of 267 to beat Homa by two strokes at Riviera Country Club.
Rahm claimed his third US PGA Tour title of 2023 to return to the top of the rankings for the first time since March of 2022.
He supplanted Scheffler just a week after the American won the Phoenix Open to replace Rory McIlroy at the summit.
