College of Saint Benilde demolished Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-17, 25-20, 25-8, for its second straight win in Season 98 National Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
Jade Gentapa led the Lady Blazers with 13 points as they are now tied with top seed with Arellano University and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta with similar 2-0 win-loss records.
Saint Benilde head coach Jerry Yee said the team has yet to find its best six players inside the court despite getting a good start in the tournament.
“We don’t have a starting rotation. The six players we started today are different from our last game,” said Yee, who will also call the shots for Adamson University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament.
“We try to activate who will work and who is available because you’re always trying to improve.”
Meanwhile, Arellano repulsed San Beda University, 25-11, 25-27, 25-7, 25-12 in the first game of the women’s volleyball tournament.
Rookie Laika Tudlasan led the charge with 15 points while Pauline de Guzman dropped 14 points.
Chyna Allison Castillo was the only Lady Red Spiker to reach double digits with 11 points.
