NLEX walloped Rain or Shine, 110-99, to bolster its bid for a top four spot in the Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Kevin Alas picked up from where he left last time around as he came up with yet another explosive performance and gave the Road Warriors their sixth win in nine games.
Alas pumped in 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc as he torched the defense of the Elasto Painters, who were being handled by his former coach, Yeng Guiao.
Also delivering big was Don Trollano, who contributed 20 markers.
Import Wayne Selden took a backseat offensively, but still managed to end up with a double-double performance of 21 points and 10 boards.
The Road Warriors hit 51 percent from the field (41-of-80) compared to only 40 percent (37-of-91) from the Elasto Painters, who lost for the sixth time in eight games and are now on the brink of early elimination.
