Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro vows that they will get more deadly as they progress in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 11.
Ducky said he is satisfied with how they are performing, but they will work hard to regain the glory they had when they ruled MPL Season 6 and M2 Mobile Legends World Championship in 2020.
Bren Esports opened the season on a sour note as they suffered a 0-2 loss at the hands of M4 world champion ECHO.
But they managed to bounce back by trampling Omega Esports, Nexplay, and TNT Pro Team via sweeps in Week 2 of this tournament.
“I’m quite happy with how we are performing right now,” Ducky said.
“Perhaps the first week, we still had jitters because it was a tough opening match against ECHO and we knew they are a strong team. We would be better.”
Bren Esports is composed of a mix of veterans and young blood bannered by team captain Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel, Season 10 Rookie of the Season Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson, Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo, Marco Stephen “SUPER MARCO” Requitano, David “Flap” Canon, and Vincent Joseph “Pandora” Unigo.
Bren Esports’ lineup is the same as the one it fielded in Season 10, which surpassed expectations by giving powerhouse teams like Blacklist International a run for their money before bowing out in the Top 4.
Ducky said their heartbreaks as well as their successful run in the Sibol Southeast Asian Games Qualifier are crucial in making his talent pool better.
He added that they are just getting started.
“We are playing from experience,” he said.
“Last season, we had rookies but we learned so much from the final season and having watched the M4 and Sibol qualifiers. We are happy to learn from the experience we had.”
