TNT downs Magnolia, claims PH Cup finals seat

TNT Tropang Giga booked a return ticket to the finals after trouncing Magnolia, 87-74, in Game 6 of the PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinals late Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jayson Castro displayed his vintage form as the Tropang Giga booked the first finals ticket and now wait for the survivor of the other semifinal pairing between Meralco and San Miguel Beer.

Castro delivered team-high 26 points, three rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes of action, while Mikey Williams had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Roger Pogoy was a menace in defense with 14 markers and five blocks and Glenn Khobuntin chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds.

Ian Sangalang and Calvin Abueva combined for 32 points but the Hotshots had a hard time sinking baskets on paltry 27 percent shooting.
