Seven-foot-three center Kai Sotto arrived in the Philippines on Thursday evening to join Gilas Pilipinas in its buildup for the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Sotto landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Parañaque.

His arrival adds more size and depth to the Chot Reyes-mentored squad.

The former Ateneo de Manila University high school standout recently re-signed with the Adelaide 36ers for the 2022-2023 National Basketball League after being undrafted in the 2022 National Basketball Association Draft.

Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson is expected to arrive Friday.

Gilas will play on the fourth window against Lebanon on 25 August before hosting Saudi Arabia on the 29th.
