Mason Amos once again flexed his muscle for Gilas Pilipinas Youth as he dropped 28 points in the Filipinos’ 84-73 win over Chinese Taipei to claim the top spot in Group C of the 2022 FIBA U-18 Asian Championships in Tehran on Tuesday.

Amos scored 13 markers in the fourth quarter to help the Nationals create enough cushion to complete a clean three-game sweep of the preliminaries and secure their spot in the quarterfinals.

The Batang Gilas big man plucked six rebounds and had three assists.

James Nacua led the supporting cast with 16 points built on four triples, while Joshua Coronel and Seven Gagate combined for 18 markers for the Filipinos.

Chun Sheng Chang posted team-high 24 points, six rebounds and two steals for the Taiwanese, who slipped to a 2-1 win-loss card.
