We went back to what we used to do

Reigning champion RSG PH struggles for form two weeks into Season 10 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines over the weekend.

Bannered by Dylan “Light” Catipon, RSG looked dangerous against a struggling TNC squad when it delivered a 2-0 sweep.

“We went back to what we used to do. We did not go by the meta, we just did what we used to do and how we used to win and it worked against TNC,” Light explained after they defeated TNC.

“(The meta now) is all focused on objectives which is why players pick tank junglers to secure the turtle. Tanks that can spam their skills can also do fast jungling. That is the meta now, it is about getting a faster rotation.”

But the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2022 kings couldn’t sustain their momentum.

On Week 2 Day 3, RSG fell short anew, this time against a revamped roster of ONIC PH. To make matters worse, the MPL Season 9 champions lost via sweep and seemingly did not get earn the respect of the newcomers.

“There was no pressure. We can go toe to toe even though they are the champion,” ONIC PH’s mid lander Frince Miguel “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez stressed after the match.

While RSG is having a hard time finding consistency, MPL Season 7 and 8 champion Blacklist International is starting to feel that they have the landscape figured out just after three matches.

After beating Nexplay EVOS and Omega Esports in the opening week, Blacklist continued its perfect start to the season with a sweep over Bren Esports.

According to the squad’s team captain Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna, the key is adjusting the lineup based on their needs.

“There is no specific meta. We adjust to whatever is the meta of our opponent,” OhMyV33nus said.
