Bagunas, a seasoned international campaigner who towed the Philippines to a historic silver medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019, reached a deal with Win+ Streak Taiwan in its campaign in the pocket tourney that will be held at the Stadium MBPG in Johor, Malaysia from 25 to 28 August.
Interestingly, Bagunas will play against his former school – National University – as they both landed in Pool A together with Sarawak in the preliminaries.
Meanwhile, Long My Volleyball Taiwan, OG Space Johor Sukma and MBSA BHL are in Pool B to complete the six-team tournament.
The top two teams of each group will advance to the knockout semifinal on Saturday with the winners marching to the one-game final for the title.
The last time the 24-year-old hitter played overseas was during the ASEAN University Games where the Bulldogs settled for a silver medal after a 21-25,16-25, 25-23,17-25 loss to Thailand in the finals last July.
Bagunas has yet to formally announce his new club after bidding farewell to Oita Mitoshi Weisse Adler last June.
