SOCIAL MEDIA

The Philippines absorbed its second straight loss in the ASEAN Grand Prix on Saturday after the Vietnamese carved out a resounding 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 win in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

Less than 24 hours after being whipped by the host nations 25-17, 25-22, 25-12, it was Vietnam’s turn to whip the Philippines.

Against Thailand in the opener, Filipina volleybelles found themselves on the wrong end of a sweep after just one hour and 25 minutes of play.

Already ahead 11-7 in the third set, the Thais went on a 14-5 tear sealed by an off-the-block kill from Kannika Thipachot for the win.

Thailand rained 46 attack points on the Philippines.

Pimpichaya Kokram led the Thais with 16 attacks and one kill block while Wipawee Srithong had 10 points built on nine attacks and a block.

Tots Carlos led the Philippines with 11 points versus Thailand.

The setback relegated the Philippines to a bronze medal match with Indonesia on Sunday in a clash of winless squads.
