Frankie Lim mulls changes in NLEX roster

SOCIAL MEDIA

Frankie Lim hasn’t coached his first game back in the PBA in seven years, but the incoming NLEX Road Warriors coach had already mulled probable changes in the squad.

Taking over as the new coach of the Road Warriors starting Friday’s game against a Rain or Shine Elasto Painters team now being coached by NLEX’s previous mentor, Lim is now looking to find ways on how to make his team better — and it should start by tinkering his line up.

“I want the team to be stronger, better and more competitive to ensure the win,” said Lim in a statement released to the team’s website.

“We can implement some changes, so the team can improve and be better the soonest possible time.”

Prior to Lim’s inclusion in the squad, the Road Warriors had already made some movements, trading talented swingman Calvin Oftana and big man Raul Soyud, but ending up with top overall rookie pick Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.

A four-time PBA champion with San Beda, Lim is looking to make a more fruitful coaching return in the big league since he took over the coaching reins of Barangay Ginebra for one conference in 2015.

As a player in the PBA, Lim won six championships — three with Great Taste during the team’s dynasty seasons, the first ever title of Alaska in the 1991 Third Conference and two with the old Purefoods franchise.
