Bren makes Playoff return

SOCIAL MEDIA

Bren Esports posted a stunning 2-1 victory over RSG PH to formalize its return to the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines Season 10 Playoffs.

Once the top gun in professional Mobile Legends for ruling Season 6 and the M2 World Championships, Bren had greatly struggled as it failed to advance to the next round of Seasons 8 and 9.

That’s why making it to the Playoffs is such a big deal for Bren as it proved that it still has what it takes to give other teams a serious run for their money.

“Since we got into the Playoffs, it would be better if we show that we really are a strong team,” experience laner Vincent Joseph “Pandora” Unigo said.

“We will try to bring out our best and showcase the prime Bren to delight the fans.”

Bren has seen a decline in its form since winning the Season 6 and a world championship in January 2021.

The series of heartbreaks prompted the organization to let go of some of its stalwarts, including M2 Most Valuable Player Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, who currently plays for ECHO.

Two-time MPL champion and M3 Mobile Legends world champion Blacklist International, meanwhile, proved once more that beating them twice is a tall order when it avenged its loss to ONIC PH to also secure a spot in the Playoffs.

Blacklist skipper Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna said while the victory was sweet, they know that the battle is still far from over.

“When I said that ever since we transferred to Blacklist International no team has beaten us twice, I did not mean that nobody would ever beat us twice,” Villaluna said as he kept his head down even after a win.

“I know we are not the God of ML (Mobile Legends) and it is bound to happen that we would eventually lose. But as much as possible, we will do our best to avoid that, especially this Season 10 where teams are really good.”

Blacklist coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, meanwhile, feels that his team would be deadlier come the Playoffs, citing that the latest patch favors the team’s favorite heroes.

“The previous patches made it hard for us to play our comfort heroes,” BON CHAN said.

“I was often criticized for repeatedly using the same drafts when it was not working so we had to endure that. This new patch we are sure that we can unleash (our comfort heroes).”
