Ahn, Siao lead Sinulog Cup winners

Korean Andrew Ahn and Keith Siao bagged the top honors in the 3rd Sinulog Cup played at the par-72 Alta Vista Golf and Country Club on the hills of Pardo, Cebu City over the weekend.

Ahn bagged best gross plum firing one-under-par 37 points in the Stableford scoring system. He had nines of 18 and 19 and edged Mark Dy for the title by virtue of a better score on the back 9.

Siao fired a tournament-best 11-under-par 47 points (21-26) banking on a strong backside to claim the best net honors.
The tournament was also the September monthly event of the club and a qualifier for the national finals of the World Amateur Golfers Championship.

The Class A title of the Sinulog Cup went to Cristino Lim 45 (24-21). First runner-up was Glenn Sebastian 44 (21-23) and Jude Demiar 42 (20-22) finished third.

Class B champion was Jun Torres 44 (24-20) followed by Edwin Go Lim 41 (19-22) who edged eventual third placer Gaudioso Melendez 41 (20-21) in the tie breaker.

Rolando Acas topped class C with 44 points (22-22) followed by Jimmy Chua 43 (22-21) and Brucedy Chan 42 (24-18).

Alan Larot topped the seniors division with 42 (21-21) with Patrick King as runner-up at 39 (19-20).

Mercy Garcia topped the ladies division with 43 points (23-20) with Annika Yeo as runner-up scoring 41 (20-21) edging Vimla Condor in the countback.

The most accurate drive award on hole No. 11 award went to Luis Fajardo, whose tee shot came to rest an inch away from the center line. Ricky Tio saved par from 20 feet for the longest putt award on the 18th hole.

The tournament was organized by the Leon Kilat Masonic Lodge No. 437 and co-presented by the South Cebu Square and Compass Association and Alta Vista Golf and Country Club’s Monthly Tournament Committee.

All champions and first runner-up of all categories also earned slots to the WAGC national finals to be played at Tagytay Midlands on 18 October.
