CJ Pérez upbeat on Lyceum

SOCIAL MEDIA

Lyceum of the Philippines University alumnus CJ Perez savored his alma mater’s 82-75 win over defending champion Letran in Season 98 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament.

The San Miguel Beer forward liked what he saw in the current lineup of the Pirates, who share the top spot with College of Saint Benilde.

“I’m impressed because most of them are young. Only a few players are veterans,” said Perez, who had led Lyceum in two Finals appearances.

“I’m proud of them and hats off to coach Gilbert Malabanan and his staff. They’re really doing their job to make sure the players are at their best.”

If the Pirates keep their winning form, a trip to the best-of-three championship is in the horizon.

“They can make it to the Finals. They just have to be consistent,” Perez said.
