Kristoffer Arevalo posted a steady two-under-par 70 to retain the lead going into the final round of the Nomura Cup qualifying tournament at the Masters course of the Manila Southwoods Thursday.

The 23-year-old De La Salle University star turned in his third sub-par round to move to 3-under, the only player to break par after 72 holes.

“Today’s round was a momentum round for me,” Arevalo said.

“Hitting good irons, good mental strength, and trusting it every time. My short game really helped me today.”

He made four birdies against two bogeys.

Elee Bisera took second spot on 2-over after carding a 73 while Jacob Rolida ballooned to a 77 and slipped to 5-over.

Still in the running for the three-man national team are Shinichi Suzuki on 6-over following a 76 and Jonas Magcalayo on 8-over after a 71.
